Not what I thought

the songs are not really a great format for memorizing facts (for my child). Instead of "2 x 2 is four!" the songs are products "2, 4, 6, 8" etc. Recalling them are more difficult once you get past counting by 5's. But, my daughter is listening for 15 minutes per day and is slowly picking them up.

Fun and educational

My fourth-grade students like these songs so much that they're disappointed on days we don't have time to sing them. From rap to country and western, the music is varied, fun, and memorable. I've been using the cassette version for several years; I'm so glad there's a CD version now. This is one of the better "multiplication songs" resources--definitely worth the price.

Not very helpful - even for my dancing 4th grader

I was very disappointed with this book. The activities in the book are basic strip charts, hundreds counting charts, and multiplication charts. All things that I can easily make myself and don't need a book for.
Of course, I mainly purchased this for the multiplication songs. The rest of the book contains the lyrics for the songs that are on the accompanying CD. My daughter is a very musical girl and she loved the songs because they are fun. However, they are not very useful at helping her memorize her multiplication facts. The lyrics are tricky to remember and then only contain each multiplication fact twice, which is not enough for memorizing. Even when we replay the songs daily she's not learning her facts.
If you are looking for a book that has the facts repeated over and over to music, this is NOT it. I think this is rather expensive for a product that is so ineffective.
