Nonfiction Passages is a Must Own for teachers wanting to equip their students for the upcoming CCSS Assessment in 2014/2015.

Although these passages are allthe same genre they are varied in topic and contain high interest materials eight to ten year olds are excited about reading. They are just the right length; enough to have substance to the topic but not so long that the kids have trouble remembering supporting details. They also lend themselves nicely to using a variey of graphic aids to teach cause & effect, main idea and supporting details, provide a wide range of topics so you could pick one to compare and contrast to a narrative selection of the same topic. Our whole grade level team can use a practical resource like this to boost our students' comprehension of informational text for the upcoming CCSS in Reading and Language Arts.
