As a history buff, I loved this book. As a homeschooling veteran, I have only high praise for it's completeness and compactness. Again, to say that these books "Everything You Need" are excellent isn't enough!! I don't know how we taught without them!!!!

I love this series

This series is great. I tutor kids from 4th-11th grades, and use "Everything ... American History" extensively with all my students. The material is concise, presented clearly, and all the important facts are there. In straightforward English! aaah. It is worth purchasing for the Bill of Rights section (in modern English) alone.

the book is really scary

This is one of the scariest goosebumps i have ever read.Whoever read this book has to edmit that it was scary.When i let my friends borrow this book all of them say it is very scary.The only problem is the ending.After anyone finishes reading ghost camp they allways say it was boring in the ending.I would have surely recommended this book 5 stars but if only it had a suitable and cool ending. R.L.Stine made just 1 problem in the ending but this still is one of the best goosebumps i have ever read.

The Best Goosebumps Book

This Book is about these 2 kids, Harry and Alex. Alex's voice is so good that he was supposed to go to music camp for the summer, but because their parents enrolled them both so late in the summer, the only camp that was available was Camp Spirit Moon

The old campers love playing pranks on the new campers. Harry meets a girl named Lucy. But During the campfire, Harry's hot dog falls off the stick into the fire and Lucy reaches her hand into the flames to retrieve it.

Then a they meet guy named Sam. Sam gives himself a critical wound by piercing a metal tent-pole through his foot, pinning it to the ground.

Then Some more creepy things start happening. What's Going on?

This is,without a doubt The Best Goosebumps book ever. The closest a Goosebumps book has come to being scary. The novel is atmospheric, darkly comic, and ingenious-- three descriptors rarely lobbed at this series.

Showing the value of individuals

I am actually the wife of the person named here . I am a children's librarian and read this storyto the children when it snows. It is one of my favorite picture books; the children enjoy it very much. The story is really quite philosophical--it shows the significance of a tiny snowflake who would otherwise be unnoticed. In fact ,the snowflake becomes the twinkle in the eye of the snowman. The illustrations are colorful, and are easy for very young children to "see." I love this story.

I bought this without seeing it first and was disappointed. The story is about a snowflake who gets to ice skate (the adventure). I had hoped for something more informational on snowflakes, and I also thought the interaction with the 'mean' snowflake to be silly and unnecessary.

Kindergarten-Grade 2–There was a cold lady who swallowed some snow, then a pipe, then coal, then a hat, and so forth. Written by Lucille Colandro (Scholastic, 2003), this title provides a different look at the old lady who swallowed a fly. Many such take-offs exist, and this is not the best of them. The items swallowed don't have a natural flow or sequence, as in other stories—the bird eating the spider eating the fly, for example. The rhyming is sometimes rather stiff as well, and the finale is quite predictable. That, however, is the book's strength. This is a story teachers will welcome for introducing the fine art of predicting outcomes. There are enough clues along the way that most students will know what's coming, and be delighted in being right when the cold lady hiccups up a snowman. Great kids book!

My kids loved this book!! They are too old for picture books but still think it's funny. We have a collection of several "There Was An Old Lady" books, and this one is the funniest. There is one line that says"There was an old lady who swallowed a scarf. She tried not to barf." That part never fails to crack my kids up!! And the end of the book is really cute. This would make a good Christmas gift for a boy or girl, aged 4-8.

I have a collection of "Old Lady Who Swallowed" books and I was a little disappointed when I read this one. The sequence and rhyming are not as fluent as some of the other books. The ending was cute but this book is not as good as the original "Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly"
